Can I use a registered office address on my website and invoices?

Yes — and you must. UK law requires a limited company to show its registered office address (and company name, company number and place of registration) on its website, its invoices, receipts, emails and business letters. Using a registered office service address for this is normal and fully compliant: it is the company's official address, whether or not you also trade from somewhere else.

What must appear, and where

  • Website: company name, registered office address, company number and place of registration (for example 'registered in England and Wales') — in a legible form, typically in the footer or on a legal/about page.
  • Invoices and receipts: the same details, plus VAT number if you are VAT-registered.
  • Business letters, emails and order forms: company name, registered office address and company number.

What you do not have to show

Directors' home addresses never appear on your website or invoices. The director service address — which is included for all directors with our service — is the address published on the Companies House register for each officer. Your residential address is still provided to Companies House privately, but it is not made public when you use a registered office and service address.

Practical example

A home-based consultant can put 'Registered office: 105 High Street, Brentwood, Essex, CM14 4RR' in their invoice footer, while working from home and meeting clients elsewhere. Customers, Companies House and HMRC all see a professional business address; the home address stays off the public register and off paperwork.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the address on my website?

Yes, as your company's registered office — UK companies must show their registered office address on their website. Because we do not accept customer correspondence, give customers a separate contact address or email for enquiries.

Can I use it on invoices?

Yes, as your registered office address, which companies are required to show on invoices and order forms. Ask customers to send payments and correspondence elsewhere, as we do not accept trading mail.

Is the director service address included for all directors?

Yes. Every director of the company can use our Brentwood address as their service address. There is no per-director charge.

Is VAT added?

No. We do not charge VAT. The price you see — £10 a month or £100 a year — is the price you pay.

Is £100 the final annual price?

Yes. The annual plan is £100 in total for 12 months of registered office and director service address. No VAT is added, and there is no setup fee.
