Registered office vs virtual office
A registered office is your company's official address on the Companies House register, where official post such as Companies House and HMRC letters is sent. A virtual office is a broader package that usually adds a general trading address, handling of customer and supplier mail, parcels and sometimes phone answering or meeting rooms. We provide a registered office and director service address only — not a virtual office.
Side by side
- Registered office: legally required for every limited company. Virtual office: optional.
- Registered office: receives official post for the company. Virtual office: usually also takes trading mail and parcels.
- Registered office: shown on the public register, website and invoices. Virtual office: often also used as a customer-facing trading address.
- Our service: registered office + director service address for £10/month or £100/year, no VAT.
Which do you need?
If you mainly need to meet the legal requirement and keep your home address off the public register, a registered office service is enough. If you need customers, suppliers or couriers to send things to a business address, you need a virtual office or a separate trading address.
Many small companies combine our registered office service with a separate trading address or simply an email address for customers.
What we do not accept
- General trading mail or customer correspondence
- Supplier post
- Parcels, deliveries or customer returns
- Post or documents for other businesses
