Registered office address for a limited company

Every UK limited company must have a registered office address in the same UK nation it is registered in. Our Brentwood, Essex address meets that requirement for companies registered in England and Wales, for £10 a month or £100 a year with no VAT, and includes a director service address for all directors.

What a registered office is for

The registered office is the company's official address on the public Companies House register. Companies House, HMRC, the courts and other government bodies use it to send official post, and it must be shown on the company's website, invoices and letterheads.

It must be an address where post can be received and the company can be served with documents. A PO box alone is not acceptable.

Why companies use a registered office service

  • To keep a director's home address off the public register.
  • To have official post handled consistently, even when travelling or working remotely.
  • To avoid using an accountant's or a friend's address that may change.

Frequently asked questions

Can it be used for Companies House?

Yes. You can register our address as your company's registered office and as the service address for every director.

Can it be used for HMRC?

Yes. Official HMRC post sent to your company at its registered office is included, scanned and sent to you digitally.

Is the director service address included for all directors?

Yes. Every director of the company can use our Brentwood address as their service address. There is no per-director charge.

Can I use the address on my website?

Yes, as your company's registered office — UK companies must show their registered office address on their website. Because we do not accept customer correspondence, give customers a separate contact address or email for enquiries.

Can I use it on invoices?

Yes, as your registered office address, which companies are required to show on invoices and order forms. Ask customers to send payments and correspondence elsewhere, as we do not accept trading mail.

How do I cancel the monthly plan?

Give us 30 days' notice. Contact support@RegisteredAddressEssex.co.uk or call 01277 523105, and remember to move your registered office away from our address at Companies House.

Can I change my existing company's registered office to your address?

Yes. After signing up you update the registered office at Companies House (form AD01 or online). We give you instructions and can help if needed.
